When I work with artists, I give them a general guideline of what my vision is. Then they're going to speak their minds on how they view it, too. The song that defines 'Neon Future' the best is the title track. I wrote that with Luke Steele of Empire of the Sun. It's through his words. We had an amazing songwriting session together, connecting.
Swing is extreme coordination. It's a maintaining balance, equilibrium. It's about executing very difficult rhythms with a panache and a feeling in the context of very strict time. So, everything about the swing is about some guideline and some grid and the elegant way that you negotiate your way through that grid.
I don't think there are any rules in real face-to-face relationships or interactions. I think authenticity and being yourself is always, without a doubt, the best plan of action. Things happen differently when you're actually here, so you can't put out a general guideline that's gonna show up in text and be interpreted. There are no rules. Just be yourself.
All normative judgments about worship must be avoided. Attempts to use biblicism as a guideline, as we shall see, tend to be abandoned in the course of time or lead to biblicism of only certain portions of scripture. After all, there is more biblical authority for snake handling (Mark 16:18) than there is for confirmation! Historically, attempts to deduce norms for worship from scripture fail because the Bible was not written for such a purpose.

The facts of nature are what they are, but we can only view them through the spectacles of our mind. Our mind works largely by metaphor and comparison, not always (or often) by relentless logic. When we are caught in conceptual traps, the best exit is often a change in metaphor - not because the new guideline will be truer to nature (for neither the old nor the new metaphor lies 'out there' in the woods), but because we need a shift to more fruitful perspectives, and metaphor is often the best agent of conceptual transition.

Once a year Jobs took his most valuable employees on a retreat, which he called " The Top 100." They were picked based on a simple guideline: the people you would bring if you could take only a hundred people with you on a lifeboat to your next company. At the end of each retreat, Jobs would stand in front of the whiteboard( he loved whiteboards because they gave him complete control of a situation and they engendered focus) and ask, " What are ten things we should be doing next?" People would fight to their suggestions on the list. Jobs would write them down, and then cross off the ones he decreed dumb. After much jockeying, the group would come up with a list of ten. Then Jobs would slash the bottom seven and announce, " We can only do three.
PURPOSE, ISN'T FOUND IN MY BROKEN HANDS OR MY SELFISHNESS. EVERYTHING THEY HAVE TOLD ME HAS BROKEN MY SPIRIT, AND IT HAS LEFT ME, WITHOUT A PLAN OR A PURPOSE FOR THIS LIFE THAT I AM MEANT TO LEAD. I'M A BROKEN MAN, I FIND NO PURPOSE IN THESE HANDS, I CAN'T BUILD ANYTHING FOR MYSELF. THEY HAVE LEFT ME, WITH NO GUIDELINE OR OUTLINE OF WHAT OR WHO I AM MEANT TO BE. EVERYTHINGS UNCLEAR, SO TELL ME WHAT, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM ME? IM JUST A BROKEN MAN, GRIPPING TO LIFE WITH A BROKEN HAND. I WISH, I HAD THE STRENGTH TO LIVE A LIFE, A LIFE FREE OF REGRET. ALL THESE THOUGHTS RUNNING THROUGH MY HEAD, IN MY OWN STRENGTH, I THINK I'D JUST WIND UP DEAD. LEND ME A HELPING HAND, SOMEONE TEACH ME TO BE A BETTER MAN. IT'S LIKE I'VE HEARD IT ALL BEFORE.GIVE ME A REASON TO BREATH OR I WON'T BREATH AT ALL. LIVING THROUGH ALL THIS PAIN, LIVING AMONGST THIS HATE, I CANT BEAR ANOTHER DAY. WHAT COULD I DO, WHAT COULD I SAY, THAT COULD MAKE THIS PAIN GO AWAY, WHAT COULD I DO, WHAT COULD I SAY,I CANT BEAR ANOTHER DAY, AND IT'S EATING ME AWAY. I AM ALONE AND COLD, HOPELESS AND BROKEN AND WRETCHED WITH NO PLACE TO GO. I AM ALONE AND COLD, IN DESPERATE NEED OF A PURPOSE AND A CHANCE OF HOPE. I WISH, I HAD THE STRENGTH TO LIVE A LIFE, A LIFE, FULL OF HOPE. TO LIVE A LIFE, FREE OF REGRET. GIVE ME THE STRENGTH.
For All Eternity
